5 The above article is an update. Her mother went to appeal to keep her out of the psychiatric ward and lost. She will be institutionalized because of her expression of her gender. She will be held until she conforms to male gender and then released to foster care, not her mother who was supporting her.

If you don’t know what Camp Hyrule was, it used to be this virtual summer camp that Nintendo hosted for one week every August from 1995-2006. It was mostly a bunch of chatrooms but there was like daily contests and little Flash mini-games and everyone was set up in different cabins (exclusive chatrooms) and most of the time there was a fun, hokey plot going on, like the moon falling or the Gamecube blueprints getting stolen, and sometimes bigwigs from NoA like Treehouse members or even Reggie would come down for an interview.
It was a fantastic experience and it was always fun getting together every year and participating in all the events and making news friends!
2007 was the last time Nintendo had a Camp Hyrule but all the community parts were kaput. No chatrooms, no cabins, no hokey plot. It was just a contest to win a Link statue, a couple of the classic Flash games, and posting fond memories.
Lately I’ve been wondering if I could try bringing back Camp Hyrule. Right here on Tumblr. At the very least, I can get cabins and daily camp activities set up using Tumblr. I’m still trying to figure out a solution for the chatrooms. Because hey, why sign up for a camp if you can’t interact with fellow campers?
I’d really love to do this but I need to know the interest is there. That’s step 1 in this whole deal. Can’t have a camp without campers right? If I see enough people willing to participate, then we have ourselves a new fake virtual camp! Plus, I’ll start ironing out more details. It’s not just campers I need though, I’m looking to get some counselors (mods) too to keep cabins in check and whatnot.
I don’t need money and neither will you, since Camp Hyrule will be free just like the official one. The only thing I really need is to know if people are on board with getting a new CH going.
